Looking for something different to do in Bratislav

Looking for something different to do in Bratislava? Just outside the capital, close to Devin Castle, is an abandoned missile base.

The whole site is overgrown with trees now but it's free to wander around and imagine how things looked when soldiers patrolled the grounds.

You can find guided tours to get more background information, or just hike up on your own from Devin Castle. It takes about an hour through quiet forests. The last stretch is uphill though and left me a little breathless 🥵

Who loves a good view point? Bratislava's UFO Tow

Who loves a good view point?

Bratislava's UFO Tower overlooks a lot of the old town and surrounding area. You can even see Austria from up there!

Heading up half and hour or so before scheduled sunset is the perfect time as you see the sun disappear and the city turn into night.

Bratislava is such an easy city to walk around. Everything is about 10 minutes away and the old town, with it's cobbled streets and trams rumbling past, is a nice place to wander.

One of my favourite spots in Barcelona. The view across Plaza España with the Magic Fountain just in front (better when it was working of course 😅).

Behind is the national art museum and beyond that the site of the Olympic Stadium from 92.

The spot by the fountain is also where Freddie Mercury performed alongside Montserrat Caballé to celebrate Bareclona hosting the games. Such a powerful song that can only get you excited about visiting the city.
